We are proud to announce that the Advanced Plastic Surgery Institute is the official Medspa Sponsor of the 2016 Miss Arizona pageant. For nearly a hundred years, the Miss Arizona pageant has given young women a voice in our community and a platform for launching their personal and professional goals.
A Mission That Matches Ours
As a plastic surgeon serving Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Chandler, Arizona, I often describe my work as giving women (and men) renewed confidence in the beauty they have always had. Our medical spa treatments help women feel more vibrant and more like themselves.
The Miss Arizona pageant helps cultivate self-confidence and strong leadership in the next generation of young Arizona women — women who want to make a difference in the local community and communities across our state. And that’s why I’m so proud that our practice is supporting it.
About the Pageant
Miss Arizona is dedicated to giving young women a path to continuing their education and contributing to the state through acts of service. Contestants volunteer for about 5,000 hours of community service annually, working with local organizations such as the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, HopeKids, and the Winged Hope Family Advocacy Foundation. Contestants also champion a personal cause of their choice, which they then have an opportunity to advance as Miss Arizona.
Like its parent organization, Miss America, the Miss Arizona pageant is primarily a scholarship event. Higher education institutions throughout Arizona offer scholarships to the contestants based on their performance in the pageant. In all, over $300,000 in scholarship money is available for tuition awards.
The Miss Arizona competition is set for June 23 to 25 at the Mesa Arts Center. Each of the young women competing in the pageant has already won a local crown, such as Miss Tempe/Mesa/Chandler, Miss City of Yuma, or Miss Navajo County. Tickets are already available from the venue.
